Florence Barber of Yorktown Heights, New York formerly of Somers, NY died on June 9, 2016. She was 90. Mrs. Barber was the Owner/Broker of Stonehedge Realty in Yorktown Heights for 25 Years, before retiring in 1990. She was a member of The National Association of Realtors and served on the Board of Directors and Ethics Committee of the Westchester County Board of Realtors.
Mrs. Barber was born in 1925 in White Plains, NY to William and Florence Brainard. She graduated from White Plains High School in 1943. In 1947 she married Glenn Barber at Grace Church in White Plains, NY. Locally she was a member of the Mohegan Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Serving as 2nd Vice Regent, and served on the Veterans Committee. She was also a member of The Heritage Hills Women’s Club and the Church of the Good Shepherd.
Mrs. Barber will be remembered for her great sense of humor, tireless volunteer work, and high standards of ethics. She loved the simple things in life; working in the garden, watching birds and just being with her friends. She will be remembered most for her great love for her family.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her daughter Lynn Peters, her son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Jean Barber and granddaughters Laura, Joanna, and Emily.
