Dear Good Shepherd,
I am writing to share further information about Flo Barber.
Her son Bruce and daughter Lynn have been in conversation with the physicians. Sadly, Flo is not expected to recover from this stroke. Her family is with her. She is comfortable.
Bruce, Lynn and the family are very grateful for the prayers and concern of the parish. He has told his Mom that we are all praying. I have no doubt that Flo knows this – even without being told.
Let us keep Flo and the family in our prayers as she makes the sacred transition from this life to the next. May she go from strength to strength.
I know how much Flo means to members of the parish. Know that the parish means a great deal to her as well. There is a bittersweet irony that the very nature of being a close, loving family of a parish brings both comfort and sorrow.
Please know that although I haven’t been able to be with Flo yet because of my cough and cold, the Hospital Chaplain visited and has arranged for an Episcopal Priest to be with Flo and the family.
We’ll keep you updated.
Blessings,
Rev. Gwyneth
