Weekly Update: Movie, Garden, Ascension Thursday and more ….

Greetings on the Feast of George, Soldier and Martyr, who died in 304; and Toyohiko Kagawa, Prophetic Witness in Japan, who died in 1960. It is also the day after Earth Day. May we reverence and thus care for “this fragile earth, our island home.” (Book of Common Prayer, 370)
Whenever I call a place of business, the recording says “Please listen carefully as your options have changed.” Please read this update carefully! Not so much because your options have changed, but because some of this may be new information – and we hope you’ll opt to participate in one or more of these events, and let your friends and family know. (Speaking of which, there are printed copies of this available in the sanctuary. If you know of someone who doesn’t have e-mail, please let them know.)
Blessings, Rev. Gwyneth

NO MORE LOCKS IN THE KITCHEN We finally realized that there is no need to keep kitchen cupboards locked EXCEPT the drawer with the sharp knives. The key for that drawer is in cupboard over sink.

FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED for the Community Center of Northern Westchester. Sometimes, donations to food banks decrease in the warmer weather, perhaps because of an unconscious connection between heat and food, and we may think if folks need less heat, they also need less food. You can get q Plastic Bags in the back of the church, fill it up with items on the attached list and return to the church.

DIOCESAN STRATEGIC PLANNING This week, Rev G will be attending the Annual Diocesan Priests’ Conference, to “confer, consort and otherwise hobnob with my fellow wizards.” Priests will receive an in-depth report from the Strategic Planning Commission, which is working with the Bishop to develop a comprehensive plan for the Diocese in the coming years. .
