Arts Jam 2014 Photos & Review

IMG_9501

The first ever Arts Jam at Good Shepherd was a smashing success!  About 75 of us gathered between 12 and 4 pm to view wonderful paintings, drawings, and photographs by members of our parish.  There were variety of sculptures and handcrafted fabrics and jewelry.  We heard poetry, singing, instrumental pieces, stories, and lots of music.  We ate BBQ pulled Pork, Burgers, Grilled Chicken, and Hot Dogs.

And it totally rained – as in a complete and total downpour!!  But we moved the festivities inside (the visual art gallery was our Parish Hall, and we moved all the music and food into the Hall and Kitchen).

We have a very talented group of parishioners, and we had a blast today!  Though we were not thinking of the Arts Jam as a fund raiser, we made $445 in food sales and raffle tickets.

If you missed it, you don’t need to wait until next year to see the visual arts (though you do need to wait till next year for the music, poetry, and other live acts).  Our visual arts gallery will remain in the Parish Hall through Sunday (some items will remain throughout September, but most will only be on display one more day.  So, make sure you come to church tomorrow (Blessing of Backpacks at Church, and Pulled Pork and Hot Dogs at Coffee Hour too).

Take a tour through our initial photo gallery.  If you have more photos from the Arts Jam, PLEASE POST THEM ASAP!!  VISIT THE GALLERY HERE:
