Longtime member and parishioner Rubye Wright died on Friday, September 28.
Her funeral will be Saturday, October 6, at 10:00 AM, at Good Shepherd. Burial will follow immeidately afterwards and a reception at Good Shepherd will follow the burial.
There will also be a wake on Friday , October 5, from 6PM to 9PM, at Clark’s Funeral Home in Yorktown.
I ask that you keep Rubye and her husband Bob in your prayers, and also all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Our ability to be present with our brothers and sisters, especially in times or sorrow, is a great gift indeed. Whether you knew Rubye well doesn’t matter, and I invite you, if you are able to, to be present with Bob on this day. The gift of prayer is likewise given to us all. Whether you are at the service or not, I invite you to offer prayers and supplications for Rubye and Bob. Your prayers and presence are requested.
Father of all, we pray to you for those we love, but see no longer: Grant them your peace; let light perpetual shine upon them; and, in your loving wisdom and almighty power, work in them the good purpose of your perfect will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
