The funeral service for Leslie Katz and Harry Katz Jr., children of Pat Katz, will be on September 8. Leslie died in August after being diagnosed with brain cancer late last year. Harry Jr. died a few years ago, but for a variety of reasons a formal memorial service had never been offered for him.
We are offering a memorial service/funeral for both of them at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 8. The service will be followed by a reception, hosted by Pat and her daughter Ellen, in the parish hall.
Though we all have many different gifts, there are a few that God has given to all of us. Our ability to be present with our brothers and sisters, especially in times or sorrow, is a great gift indeed. Whether you know Pat or knew her children well doesn’t matter, and I invite you, if you are able to, to be present with her on this day. The gift of prayer is likewise given to us all. Whether you are at the service or not, I invite you to offer prayers and supplications for Pat, Ellen, Leslie, and Harry. Your prayers and presence are requested.
Father of all, we pray to you for those we love, but see no longer: Grant them your peace; let light perpetual shine upon them; and, in your loving wisdom and almighty power, work in them the good purpose of your perfect will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
