A few interested individuals met after the 10:00am service on Sunday to discuss the logistics for the Lenten Study Group. However, I am aware that there are other interested parties that were not able to attend that meeting. For all that are interested to participate in this study, here is how we will proceed:
1.) We will meet Sunday mornings between the services (9-10AM) in the Guild Room, starting Sunday, March 19th
(Note that this is a change from the original start date we discussed, in order to accommodate the 8:00ers’ monthly breakfast, which will take place March 12th.)
2.) We will meet for four Sundays with the following assigned readings:
I. March 19th : Pages 1-50
II. March 26th : Pages 51-67
III. April 2nd: Pages 68-76
IV. April 9th: TBD
Please do not read the whole text (although it is tempting). You can consider it a Lenten Exercise.
3.) While you’re reading the different sections of the play please contemplate the following thoughts:
I. What drives our desire to be wise?
II. Why did God forbid to eat the fruit from the tree of Knowledge but not from the tree of Life?
