If you want to fresh Good Shepherd basil, please come by the church vegetable garden and pick some! Don’t take it all! It will continue growing all summer, but right now it could use some light harvesting.
After the recent heavy storms the tomatoes have been propped up (again). They had been flattened, but they are going to be fine! They are not yet ready, but they will be in coming weeks. We hope to use the tomatoes and basil at our coffee hours throughout August and September… Hot Dog & Garden Vegetable Season!!!
The Peppers (sweet bell and insanely hot) continue to grow… We plan to use those and the Tomatoes and Basil for our third annual Hot Sauce & Pizza Night in the early autumn (the date depends on the hot peppers).
The NW side of the Garden has been replanted with Snap Peas, Lettuce, Beets, and Kale… All of which we plan to use at Coffee Hour throughout September and into October.
