Blessings and Greetings on the Feast of St. Joseph,
Tomorrow we continue our Lenten Journey as we enter into Holy Week. Below is a detailed list of meals and services. Please invite your family, friends, neighbors and strangers to join us.
Please come to the services that work for you. The world doesn’t slow down during Holy Week, so most folks have their usual responsibilities. If you cannot get here on time for a meal or service, COME LATE!! Remember, we are walking with Jesus, His friends, family and followers through a week that was turbulent, disorganized and chaotic. (Indeed, I would not be surprised to learn that some of the disciples were late to the Last Supper because they were getting supplies, making arrangements or just running late.)
May this Holy Week be one of blessing, surprise and ultimately joy for each and all. I look forward to continuing are shared journey toward the Resurrection,
Reverend Gwyneth / Rev G
A few notes:
*** Coffee Hour for Tomorrow (Palm Sunday) and next Sunday (Easter) are potluck, so we invite everyone to bring something.
*** Easter Flowers: if you would like to make a donation in memory of a loved one(s), please do so by Tuesday. There are envelopes in the pews, or call the church at 914-248-5631.
*** Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Evening Prayer at 6:30 will be half an hour; we’ll meet in the Guild Room.
*** Thursday, Friday and Saturday, we share a meal at 6:30. The meals are potluck: sign up sheets are in the Breezeway; please come whether or not you bring food. We need volunteers to set up and clean up.
***Please note that we are going to do the first part of the Maundy Thursday service with our meal, echoing the Last Supper. Join us whenever you can.
*** This year we join parishes throughout the country in sending our Maundy Thursday and Good Friday offerings to The Episcopal Church in the Holy Land.
*** Saturday Pizza is made from scratch by the Youth Group. While they appreciate offers of help, it is their Easter Ministry to the parish to prepare it themselves. [Help with clean-up welcome. 🙂 ]
