Staying Safe in the Storm

Dear Good Shepherd,
Greetings on the Feast of Vincent, Deacon of Saragossa and Martyr, who died in 304.

I hope everyone is home safe and sound. Although we are not going to get anything like our neighbors to the South, we are getting the storm.
This is a quick note to remind all of us to be good neighbors. Please check in with your neighbors, especially any who live alone, are disabled or elderly. Even if s/he doesn’t need anything, it’s always good to that know someone close by is looking our for you.

I hope you enjoy the beauty of the snow. Please do not feel any obligation to come to church if you have any concerns about driving.

Fortunately, the snow cannot impede our common call to prayer.
Gracious God, we pray for all those who are affected by this blizzard, especially those in the South and Mid-Atlantic States, those who are homeless, and those who do not have adequate heat or shelter. WE pray for the safely of sanitation workers and all who plow, police officers, fire fighters, EMTs and hospital personnel, traffic workers, public utility workers, volunteers and all those who put themselves at risk to protect and help their fellow human beings, and we give thanks for their work. AMEN.

Blessings,
Reverend Gwyneth
