It’s another great week at Good Shepherd! All are welcome to join us for worship and fellowship:
This Sunday, we are happy to welcome Canon Blake Rider as our Celebrant and Preacher!
8:00am – Said Eucharist Rite I
8:50am – Bible Reflection in the Guild Room
10:00am – Said Eucharist Rite II with Hymns
Canon Rider is kind enough to fill in for Rev. John Farrell, who is quite ill. Please keep Fr. John in your prayers.
Holy Cross Day & Chickenfest is this Monday, September 14!
Join us for Evening Prayer at 6:30pm followed by our righteous potluck Chickenfest! All chicken dishes are welcome – be creative and come have some fun! A sign up sheet is in the breezeway.
CCNW update: The bags are back!
Our total giving YTD is about 540 lbs. toward our goal of 1000 lbs. We are having a MAJOR food drive this Oktoberfest. The lists of most needed items have been attached to the reusable bags, FYI. Pick up your bag from the narthex, fill it with the listed items, and bring it back for Oktoberfest on September 26th. There are 100 bags – let’s try to fill each one with at least 10 lbs of food!
Sunday School begins September 20!
We have two very important Sunday School Events that day:
1. We will kick off with the annual “Blessing of the Backpacks” during the 10am service. All children should bring their backpacks that day to receive a special blessing and a back to school surprise package.
2. Registration for the Sunday School Year will take place that day as well, after church. Please look for Megan Whalen at a table in the breezeway! The newly-established Sunday School Committee looks forward to speaking with all of the families who plan to have children in Sunday School this year. We want to be sure we have up to date contact information for your family and the accurate grade levels for your children.
We are very excited to start a new year full of fun, outreach, friendship, and Christian Education!
Our second annual Arts Jam is also September 20! (12-4pm)
We’ll have poetry, fine art on display, music, readings and other performance! If you wish to be involved as a participant, please see Cecilia (music), Maria Kaprielian (art display) or Scott Jones (anything else and all of the above). All are welcome to showcase your wonderful talents. Please see Maria if you have arts and crafts you wish to put on table for display and/or sale. This year, we will be providing burgers, dogs, soda and water etc. and encourage attendees to bring their own sides and any other beverages. A sign-up sheet for food contributions is in the breezeway.
