CCNW update
Thank you for your generous response to the appeal for food and school supplies for the Community Center of Northern Westchester. We are halfway to our 2015 goal of 1000 lbs in food and supplies! There will be a MAJOR food drive as part of our Oktoberfest celebration on September 26.  Stay tuned for updates as the date approaches. In the meantime, check in the narthex for reusable bags you can take to fill with food for CCNW!

Holy Cross Day & Chickenfest (September 14)
Join us for Evening Prayer at 6:30pm followed by our righteous potluck chickenfest! All chicken dishes are welcome – be creative and come have some fun! A sign up sheet is in the breezeway.

September 20th marks the beginning of the Sunday School Year for 2015-2016. We have two very important Sunday School Events that day:
1. We will kick off with the annual “Blessing of the Backpacks” during the 10am service. All children should bring their backpacks that day to receive a special blessing and a back to school surprise package.
2. Registration for the Sunday School Year will take place that day as well, after church. Please look for Megan Whalen at a table in the breezeway! The newly-established Sunday School Committee looks forward to speaking with all of the families who plan to have children in Sunday School this year. We want to be sure we have up to date contact information for your family and the accurate grade levels for your children.

We are very excited to start a new year full of fun, outreach, friendship, and Christian Education!

Our second annual Arts Jam is also September 20! (12-4pm)
We’ll have poetry, fine art on display, music, readings and other performance! If you wish to be involved as a participant, please see Cecilia (music), Maria Kaprielian (art display) or Scott Jones (anything else and all of the above). You still have a couple of weeks to prepare to showcase your wonderful talents. Please also see Maria or Scott if you have arts and crafts you wish to put on table for display and/or sale. This year, we will be providing burgers, dogs, soda and water etc. and encourage attendees to bring their own sides and any other beverages. A sign-up sheet for food contributions is in the breezeway.
