Christology in the Gospels – February 15 at 9AM

“Who do people say that I am?”

This question asked by Jesus to his disciples evoked a variety of answers at the time, and many more in the years since Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead.

For those interested in learning more about Jesus, I am offering a class on Christology in the Gospels.  Christology is the study of who Jesus is.  New Testament scholar Raymond Brown write that “christology discusses any evaluation of Jesus in respect to who he is and the role he played in the divine plan.”  The class will meet on Sunday, February 15, at 9am, and will last for about 45 minutes.  It will be an introductory class.

If you are interested in learning more and going into greater depth, I strongly recommend Raymond Brown’s short book (about 200 pages), “An Introduction to New Testament Christology.  Father Brown explores Christology throughout the entire New Testament (our class will focus on the Gospels). This is a good book to read during Lent.   It is a worthwhile read for any adult Christian who is interested in learning more about what the Scriptures say about Jesus and how the early church understood Jesus.  The book is available on amazon for about $11.00.  Find it HERE
