Our Holy cross celebration kicked off with a bang! We had about 30 people for Holy Cross Evensong & Chickenfest! Thanks to all who sang, cooked, ate, and laughed at Wallace and Grommit!
Earlier in the day, our Celebrate Somers volunteers made over $600 is raffle ticket sales! Helping set and clean up were Phil Levy and Rick Slattery. Selling raffle tickets were Christine Robbins, Lorne Robbins, Rick Slattery, Sally Fitzsimmons and Dorothy Baeder. Many thanks!
Tomorrow we have morning prayer at 7:40am, Said Mass at 8am, and Sung Mass at 10am. Sunday School begins for 2014-2015. After church our Youth Group is going on a hike and picnic at Lasdon Park. And we will have lots of tomatoes available (please donate something to the outreach fund for the tomatoes you take). Thanks in advance to our Sunday School teachers and youth group leaders!
The hymns for Holy Cross Day are awesome! We are singing Stand Up For Jesus, Lift High The Cross, When I Survey The Wondrous Cross, Allelluia Alleluia Give Thanks, and The Head That Once Was Crowned With Thorns.
