Saturday February 1 is the day of FIRE!!
At 2pm Father Matt (me) will make hot sauce. If you want hot sauce, bring hot peppers and/or containers to store your hot sauce. We do not need bell peppers or any non hot peppers. Jalapeños are ok, but they are generally mild compared to actual hot peppers. We will make three hot sauces. “Hot” orange (habanero only); “Medium” Red (mixed hot peppers including habanero); “Mild” green (mixed peppers including habanero). Bring empty glass hot sauce containers or jars and/or peppers if you want to get in on the fire.
At 5pm we will have Sung Mass with Blessing of Candles. Candlemas is a beautiful and moving service, and is even better at night by candlelight.
Chilifest Competition is at 6pm. Father Matt will again try to decrease the fire level in his chili, and other people will, as usual, win all the awards! Except hottest! I always win that!!!
