Saint Mark’s Mount Kisco is offering a series of lectures entitled:

Being the Church: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow: Religion, Spirituality, and American Culture Since 1945 – A Lecture Series by the Rev. William A. Doubleday, Priest in Charge, St. Mark’s Church, Mt. Kisco

About the Lecturer: The Rev. William A. Doubleday taught Pastoral Theology, Episcopal Church History and Polity, and Church and Society for twenty five years, at The General Theological Seminary (1986-2005) and at Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary in Columbus, Ohio (2005-2011), where he also served as Dean.

Time: Six Non-Consecutive Tuesday Evenings from 7 pm to 8:30 pm

Place: In the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Library, 85 E. Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549

4. Tuesday, November 19, 2013:
The 1980’s and 1990’s: “Sheilaism”; Self-Help Movements; Rapid Technological Change; Two Career Households; Struggles Over Inclusivity, and the Ascendency of the Religious Right

5. Tuesday, December 3, 2013:
The 21st Century: Changing Local and National Demographics; Graying Congregations; Emergent Christianity; Spiritual, but Not Religious; and the Rise of the Nones – Those with NO Religious Preference.

6. Tuesday, December 10, 2013
Where Do We Go from Here? Glimpses and Hunches about the Future of Faith, the Shape of Mission, and the Nature of the Church both Locally and Globally
