On Sunday afternoon someone left 9 large boxes of children’s books in front of the rectory garage. This morning I set out to see if any organization was willing to take them. Many thanks to the Mahopac Public Library for their willingness and ability to take the books.
Most libraries, thrift shops, food pantries, and even Goodwill are not able to take bulk donations of this sort, and when items are left at the door, they are often thrown away. If you ever find yourself with bulk charity items, it is best to call in advance to see if the charity organization is able to take your items. If you aren’t sure what to do, please call me, members of our Outreach Committee, or our Community Partners at the CCNW and ask for suggestions. Thankfully, in this case, I am happy to say that it all worked out!
