I am sorry to post such sad news. As you probably have heard there was an horrific act of violence at an elementary school in Connecticut today.
Your prayers are asked for all who have been killed, all who are injured, and all who have lost family members or friends in the mass-shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Connecticut. News reports indicate the at least 27 people have been killed including at least 20 children. May God bless them and keep them. Please pray for them and all who mourn.
The church flagpole flags are at half staff and will remain so for the next few days. If you need anything, please let me know. I hope you will join me in offering prayers for all who have died and for all who mourn.
O God, whose beloved Son took children into his arms and blessed them: Give us grace to entrust to your never-failing care and love those dear children who were killed today, and bring us all to your heavenly kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding: Deal graciously with all parents, classmates, teachers, family and friends in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they may not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness, and strength to meet the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
