&#8211;\u00a0http:\/\/goodshepherdny.org\/?page_id=550<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This Saturday, November 17,\u00a0is Diocesan Convention.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Wilfried Haensch (del), Phil Levy (alt), Deacon Normal Fulton, and Father Matt are going.\u00a0 The Convention was postponed from earlier in the month.\u00a0 It will be held at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This weekend, November 17-18 is &#8220;Covenant Weekend&#8221;.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Our 24 hour prayer vigil will begin at 8AM on Saturday, November 17.\u00a0 The church will be open, heated, and someone will be praying throughout the 24 hour vigil.\u00a0 Every hour has been signed up for.\u00a0 There will be reading resources available in the church, and of course you are welcome to bring your own book or pray in silence.\u00a0 On Sunday we will bless pledge cards (you should recieve them in today&#8217;s mail).\u00a0 Please pray over what you plan to pledge for 2013,\u00a0sign your pledge card, and bring it in on Sunday (you can also mail it in or bring it to the church at any time).\u00a0 After the 10AM service we will have a festive brunch in the parish hall!<\/p>\n<p>This Sunday is also &#8220;Harvest Sunday&#8221; when we gather food and supplies for the Community Center of Northern Westchester.\u00a0 Since we gather these supplies every Sunday, you might wonder what is so special about Harvest Sunday.\u00a0 On Harvest Sunday we ask everyone who is able to bring in supplies, so that our donation is larger than usual.\u00a0 Below are two lists of supplies\/food.\u00a0 The first is the regular suggestion asked for by the CCNW.\u00a0 The second is a special list of holiday suggestions asked for by the CCNW.\u00a0 Anything you can donate is appreciated<\/p>\n<p><strong>REGULAR LIST<\/strong><br \/>\nDried black and pinto beans<br \/>\nCold cereal<br \/>\nTuna<br \/>\nCanned beef stew<br \/>\nSpaghetti sauce<br \/>\nFruit juice<br \/>\nBaby food<br \/>\nDiapers\u00a0<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>HOLIDAY LIST<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>*\u00a0 NOTE &#8211; If you plan on donating any frozen or cold items, please know that we DO NOT have adequate storage space at the church.\u00a0 Please contact Nancy Haensch or Father Matt in advance so that we can arrange for a way to make sure donation does not spoil and gets to the food \/>\nCake Mixes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evensong will be offered on Sunday (every Sunday) at 5:00 PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On Tuesday, November 20, at7:30 PM we will celebrate the Yorktown Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at Saint Mary&#8217;s Mohegan Lake.\u00a0<\/strong>Every year the ecumenical group of churches, synagogues and mosques gathers for a Thanksgiving service.\u00a0 We will pray together and thanks God for all of our blessings.\u00a0 Its a special service and a great treat to see all of our religious groups in one place.\u00a0 Father Matt will take part in this service which is being hosted by Saint Mary&#8217;s Mohegan Lake.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Thursday, November 22, at 10AM we will celebrate Thanksgiving Day Sung Eucharist at Good Shepherd.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Get out of the house and come to church for less than an hour to give thanks to God for all the blessings he has given you, and celebrate the Great Thanksgiving!\u00a0 We also get to sing some classic Harvest hymns that day that we don&#8217;t sing the rest of the year!<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Sunday, November 25, we celebrate the last Sunday of the liturgical year, Christ the King. \u00a0<\/strong>After the 10 AM service, Father Matt is heading to NYC to offer a presentation on the 2013 Pilgrimage to the Holy Land at Saint Thomas Church in New York City at 12:30 PM. \u00a0For information on the Pilgrimage see here:\u00a0http:\/\/goodshepherdny.org\/?page_id=550<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shephers&#8217;s Voice Newsletter<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; we have decided to cancel the November SV newsletter, since the month is half over.\u00a0 It was delayed in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and it seems best at this point to simply look ahead to December.\u00a0 If you have any articles for December,
