Tuesday, April 24, 2018<\/strong> Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., Interment to follow with US Navy Honors: God our Creator, your grace gives life to all; receive George into your keeping and give him the new life promised through Jesus Christ our Savior, who once was dead and now lives with you and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n Below is the George’s obituary:<\/p>\n George Parks, 94, of Yorktown Heights, NY passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018 with his family by his side.<\/p>\n Mr. Parks was born on January 24, 1924 to the late George and Clara Parks, in White Plains NY. On November 1, 1952 he married the love of his life Sandra and together they were blessed with a loving daughter Deborah. <\/p>\n George proudly served his country during World War II actively with the US Navy and was a proud American. Before he retired Mr. Parks was a talented self employed carpenter who had an extraordinary amount of pride in his work and a fine eye for detail and perfection in everything he did. He truly lived life to the fullest enjoying golf in his spare time. Although George was an avid golfer and loved his work, his family was his true passion in life. Mr. Parks was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend to many. He will be dearly missed by all who had known and loved him, yet his legacy of love and devotion to family, friends and country, will continue to grow in our hearts.<\/p>\n George is survived by his adoring wife of over 65 years, Sandra; his beloved son in law John and his three cherished grandchildren Gregory, Jeffrey and Sandra as well as the baby of the family his great granddaughter Samara. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Deborah who passed in 2013 and his only sister who also predeceased him. <\/p>\n The family has asked that in lieu of flowers please make a donation in George\u2019s honor to a charity of your choice. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hi everyone, Following are the funeral arrangements for George Parks.
