This\u00a0weekend we celebrate Holy Cross Day!<\/p>\n
Saturday,\u00a0September 13<\/strong> After the service we will celebrate our annual Chickenfest! \u00a0We will fire up the grill after Evensong (if it rains we will use the stove and oven) and cook wings, thighs, drumsticks, and chicken breasts (provided by the Fellowship Fund)! \u00a0We will also\u00a0provide\u00a0blue cheese dip and hot sauce for wings. \u00a0Soda, Water, and Beer (Indaba Ale from Captain Lawrence) will be provided as well. \u00a0Other chicken dishes, wine, appetizers , sides, and desserts are potluck.<\/p>\n As a special treat we will watch all three original Wallace and Grommit Shorts on the Jumbotron. \u00a0These shorts are a half hour each, and they are really, really funny. \u00a0Come to Evensong & Chickenfest! \u00a0We start at 5PM!!!<\/p>\n Sunday, September 14<\/strong> This Sunday is also the first week of\u00a0Sunday School classes. \u00a0Sunday School begins at 10AM with the children’s service in the Parish Hall. \u00a0The children will then break into our three classes. \u00a0Sunday School ends around 10:45 and all of the children and teachers come to church for Holy Communion. \u00a0Childcare for the youngest children is offered in the Nursery.<\/p>\n After church and Coffee Hour, the Youth Group is going to Lasdon Park for a hike and picnic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This\u00a0weekend we celebrate Holy Cross Day! \nOn Saturday at 5PM we will gather together for Evensong for the Eve of Holy Cross Day. Evensong is a short service (about 25 minutes) that includes scripture, psalms, hymns, and prayers.<\/p>\n
\nHoly Cross Day is celebrated every year on September 14. \u00a0Our regular services will be offered: 7:40 AM Morning Prayer); 8AM Said Eucharist; 10AM Sung Eucharist. \u00a0The readings and hymns are all about the Cross of Jesus. \u00a0The hymns for Holy Cross Day are excellent!<\/p>\n
