Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden was built in 2010 and Consecrated on All Saints’ Day, November 1, 2010. The purposes of the Church of the Good Shepherd Memorial Garden (The Garden) are 1) to provide an appropriate, consecrated, and maintained place for the interment of ash remains of beloved deceased; 2) to provide a quiet prayer and meditation space for the parish and public, including Stations of the Cross; 3) to provide special liturgical celebration space, especially for our annual services on All Saints Day, Palm Sunday, Easter Vigil, Pentecost, and other celebrations throughout the year.

The Garden is located in a wooded area on the property of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The Garden is overseen by the Memorial Garden Committee (the Committee), appointed by the Rector and the Vestry. The basic design, planning and administration of the Garden is under the supervision of the Committee, whose actions are subject to the approval of the Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

The walkway to the Garden is lined with inscribed bricks. If you would like to buy an inscribed brick for the Garden, please contact the parish office at info@goodshepherdny.org or 914.248.5631.
