Outreach

The Outreach Committee is the central hub off of which all of Good Shepherd’s Outreach projects extend (like spokes on a wheel). The Committee meets several times each year to discuss and plan upcoming events and projects. All are welcome to join the Committee; just come to the meeting!

There are a number of different ongoing outreach efforts at Good Shepherd, and we also organize several different projects each year.  We have a three tiered focus to outreach: Local, Domestic, and International.  Each tier has a single year-long focus that involves the entire parish.  Each tier also has one or more major outreach efforts that are supported by the parish through parish-wide events or individual efforts.

Our parish-wide local focus is our partnership with the Community Center of Northern Westchester and the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center.  In addition, we support several other local Outreach offerings, including Episcopal Charities, Support Connection, and we offer our space for a variety of outside groups and uses.

Our parish-wide domestic focus is  the Episcopal Relief & Development US Disaster Program.  We also have an annual Relay for Life team in support of the American Cancer Society.

Internationally, we support and have a missioner for the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.
