Tonight: Deepening Our Relationship with God in Advent

Hi everyone,

Come on over to Good Shepherd this evening for a lovely Rite 3 Eucharist at 6:30 pm, as we continue to deepen our relationship with God and each other this Advent. The service will be followed by a simple soup and bread supper, and wonderful fellowship time. You don’t need to do anything but show up!

Coming up this week:

Sunday, December 16
8:00 am Said Eucharist (Rite 1)
9:45 am Sunday School **Middle School Youth isn’t meeting this week**
10:00 am Said Eucharist with hymns (Rite 2)
11:15 am Weather Ready presentation in the Guild Room

Are You “Weather Ready”?
Learn how to become ready for severe weather on Sunday, December 16 during coffee hour.
The High School Youth Group invites you to a presentation by one of our alumni, Katie McKeown, about how to be ready for severe weather. Katie is a meteorology student and a member of the Meteorology Society. She has given this presentation to community groups and wanted to offer it to the High School Youth Group. We thought it would be important information for everyone to hear! We will provide a yummy coffee hour and we can all learn about weather preparedness from Katie! We hope you will join us.

Outreach – Giving Tree
The tabletop Christmas Tree in the breezeway is our only specific outreach this Advent season. The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem operates 14 schools in Palestine, Israel and Jordan, two major hospitals, four outpatient clinics, mobile clinics and four institutions supporting children and adults with disabilities. No one is denied attention because they cannot pay. Government grants have been slashed. Please give what you can to support our church’s work in our Holy Land. Further information can be found at www.AFEDJ.org.
