Your children are invited to Church School Camp in August!!

Dear friends,

I am pleased to invite your children to Good Shepherd’s first annual Church School Camp!  For the first time, we are going to offer our Sunday School students a three-day “summer camp” from August 20-22 (Tuesday-Thursday) at the church.

Each day will run from 9am-12pm and offer spiritual lessons, crafts/hobbies and “nature” activities such as outdoor tree studies and scavenger hunts. The daily activities will be planned and fully supervised by Sunday School teachers and church parishioners. A snack will be provided. There is no cost for the program but space is limited to the first twelve (12) children who register. If you wish to register for this camp, please do so by emailing either Glenn Hintze at ghintze@us.ibm.com  or Bruce Barber at barberbruce@yahoo.com.

God bless and keep my friend, mentor and Godfather Thomas Schulze who died today. He was a great guy and an amazing husband and priest. Please keep my Godmother Kay, his wife, in your prayers. Funeral for Joshua Trinidad

A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Friday, June 14, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd.  The service will be followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.  Your prayers and presence are requested.  The family has requested, if possible, that people to wear white for the service.

Lord, you consoled Martha and Mary in their distress; draw near to us who mourn for Joshua, and dry the tears of those who weep. You wept at the grave of Lazarus, your friend; comfort us in our sorrow. You raised the dead to life; give him eternal life. He was washed in Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit; give him fellowship with all your saints. Look with pity on the suffering of this family in their loss; sustain them in their anguish; into the darkness of their grief bring the light of your love; comfort us in our sorrows; let our faith be our consolation, and eternal life our hope. Father of all, hear our prayers and be merciful to your child, Joshua, whom you have called from this life.  Welcome him into the company of your saints, in the kingdom of light and peace.  We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
